Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what Ciel Study collects, why, and what we do not collect. We have deliberately kept the amount of personal data to a minimum.
1. What we collect
| Data | Why |
|---|---|
| Your Telegram numeric user ID | To identify your account, apply your access, and keep your progress |
| Your Telegram display name | To address you in messages and show first names on the leaderboard |
| Questions you attempt and whether you answered correctly | To show your accuracy, streak, and schedule spaced repetition |
| Subscription status and expiry date | To know whether your access is active |
| Payment reference IDs from Razorpay | To match a completed payment to your account and avoid double-charging |
| Feedback you submit through the bot | To investigate and reply to the issue you reported |
2. What we do NOT collect
- We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details. Those are handled entirely by Razorpay on their own secure pages.
- We do not collect your phone number, email address or postal address.
- We do not read your other Telegram chats. A bot can only see messages sent directly to it.
- We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics.
3. Where your data is stored
Your data is stored in a local database controlled by the operator, in India. It is not sold, rented, or shared for marketing.
4. Who we share data with
Only where necessary to run the Service:
- Telegram — because the Service is delivered through Telegram, your use is also subject to Telegram's own privacy policy.
- Razorpay — our payment processor. When you pay, Razorpay receives the payment details you enter and returns a payment reference to us. Razorpay's handling of that data is governed by their privacy policy.
- Legal obligation — if required by applicable law.
5. How long we keep it
Practice history and account records are kept while your account exists, so that your progress and streak remain meaningful. Payment reference records are retained as long as needed for accounting and dispute handling.
6. Your choices
You may ask us to delete your account and practice history at any time by contacting us — see Contact Us. We will delete it within a reasonable period, except records we are required to keep for tax or dispute purposes. Deleting your data ends any active access and does not by itself create a refund entitlement; refunds are covered by the Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Children
The Service is intended for medical graduates preparing for licensing examinations and is not directed at children under 13.
8. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect your data. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If a breach affects your data, we will inform affected users.
9. Changes
We may update this policy. The "last updated" date above reflects the current version, and material changes will be announced through the bot.
10. Contact
Privacy questions or a deletion request: see Contact Us.
